An old idea has come around again. Before society institutionalized aging, we took for granted we would look after the elders in our community and help them to grow old among their friends, expecting the same for ourselves. Today’s culture has forgotten how to do this – we move the elderly away when they begin to need assistance, which is unnecessary – the solution is so simple: Create a place that’s attractive, livable and reasonably priced, for people willing to live the promise to look after each other.
