Janette Hayhoe, a talented artist living in Guelph, had her small 1800s semi completely renovated from top to bottom. Her kitchen, at the back of the house, hosts much of the home's original charm with a large island constructed from a few of its old planks and beams. The island was designed to serve as both a countertop with built-in sink and a kitchen table.
With minimal counter space, Janette creatively uses shelving and cabinets to openly store kitchen necessities. The open shelves also help to make the room feel more spacious and bright.
